When I was younger, I always went through phases where I was obsessed with a new book series, a song, or some type of food. During these times I would dive deep into a topic and learn everything I could about it. Eventually I would get bored and find something new to spend all my free time on. There are some things I return to every once in a while, either for interest or nostalgia but most things I’ve forgotten about. Around grade 10 I spent about a month just watching short documentaries about different things. Documentaries allowed me to learn for the sake of pure interest rather than curricular requirements. This week when we watched the short film ‘Most Likely to Succeed’ (directed by Greg Whiteley) it reignited my interest in these types of films. For my personal inquiry project, I’ve decided to learn more by watching documentaries. My goal is to watch a new documentary every week, summarize my key learnings, how its personally impacted me, and whether I would recommend it.
