Multimedia learning, when people learn from both pictures and words, is an important tool for student understanding of complex systems and ideas. Incorporating graphics into classroom learning is valuable for both teacher and student. Sometimes graphics need to be really specific and its difficult to find one that does not breach copyright or meets all the requirements. That is why this week we learned some simple way that we can create graphics ourselves. There are many tools teachers can use to create but some like photoshop are very expensive. A surprising alternative to use is Microsoft PowerPoint. Using PowerPoint, you can easily add photo effects, crop, copy, or combine photos, add different styles, or change the image order, orientation, and arrangement. Below I’ve included some of my creations!
For this design I’ve combined the two images by inverting the illustration image in colour, layering it on top of the photo, duplicating the photo of the bear, layering it on top, and erasing the background in remove background.
For this simple design I just added text boxes, change the font colour to white, and highlighted the words grey.
